Before You Start
To access your VEE Space, ensure you're signed in with your university email account. If you use Microsoft Teams with other organisations, you may need to switch to the EAEVE organisation.
The steps below will guide you through the process. Most access problems come down to one of three things: signing in with the wrong account, being in the wrong organisation in Teams, or an old login getting in the way. Each is covered below.
First-Time Login to Microsoft
When accessing your VEE Space for the first time:
- Check your email for the Microsoft Teams invitation from EAEVE and click Open Microsoft Teams in the invitation email.
- Create your account by setting a password, if you are asked to.
- Provide your country/region and date of birth.
- Enter the verification code sent to your email.
- Complete the CAPTCHA verification.
- Review the permissions and click Accept.
- Choose to use Teams via the desktop app or a web browser.
You now have access to your VEE Space and can sign in anytime at teams.microsoft.com.
Invitation or code didn't arrive?
- Check your junk, spam or quarantine folder. The invitation is sent by Microsoft on behalf of EAEVE, so it may come from a Microsoft address rather than an EAEVE one.
- Verification codes expire after a short time. If yours has, request a new one and use the most recent code only.
- Make sure you are signing in with exactly the email address the invitation was sent to.
- If nothing arrives within a day, ask the EAEVE Office to resend the invitation, or ask a colleague in your VEE Space to post the request in your team's channel.
If You Are Already Logged into Microsoft with a Different Email
If you use Microsoft 365 for other work and are already logged in:
Option A (recommended): Add an Additional Account
If you prefer working in a single browser or app:
Browser
- Go to the Profile Icon (top right) → Add account
- Sign in with your VEE credentials
Teams desktop app
- Teams supports only one organisation at a time, but multiple accounts
- Open the Profile Icon → Add account
- Switch between organisations as needed (see the next section)
Option B: Use a Private/Incognito Window
Recommended for quick access without affecting your primary login.
- Open a private/incognito browser window
- Go to office.com
- Sign in with your invited VEE email address
Switching the Tenant in Microsoft Teams
A "tenant" is an organisation's own Microsoft 365 environment: your university has one, and EAEVE has another. Your VEE Space lives in EAEVE's tenant, so if Teams opens in your university's environment you will need to switch manually.
In the Teams desktop app
- Click your Profile Icon (top right).
- Under Organizations, select the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education.
- Teams reloads and shows the correct environment.
In Teams on the web
- Open teams.microsoft.com.
- Choose the correct organisation when prompted.
- If it is not shown: sign out, then sign in again with your VEE account only.
In the Teams mobile app
Tap your profile picture, then choose the EAEVE organisation from your list of accounts and organisations.
Accessing the VEE SharePoint Site
You can access your SharePoint site in two ways:
Via Teams
- Open your VEE Team.
- Go to the General channel.
- Click VEESpaceTrainingcenter → Open in new window.
Via direct link
If provided by your admin, click the SharePoint link and sign in with your VEE account.
Troubleshooting Access Issues
If you cannot access Teams or SharePoint, work through these in order:
- Verify you are logged in with the correct account.
- Switch the tenant (desktop, web or mobile).
- Use a private window to avoid conflicting sessions.
- Use an alternative browser. If you frequently switch between different accounts, using a separate browser for each account is a good method.
- Clear cached credentials (browser or Teams app), then sign in again.
If your university blocks access
Some universities restrict their staff from joining other organisations' Teams environments. If you see a message saying your organisation does not allow access, or you are blocked straight after signing in with your university account, contact your university's IT service desk and ask them to allow guest access to EAEVE's Microsoft 365 organisation.
